Cycles Peugeot White labels: Timeline of format changes
Over time the white labels system changed. The location of the labels changed, the format of the information changed and the content of the information changed. Here is a time line of some of the changes.
– first white labels with serial numbers.
– sequence number for serial numbers restart at 0000000.
– label location transitions to the chain stay from the bottom bracket.
/85 – a series of white labels with no serial numbers.
– the two lines of information are switched around. The serial number moved to the lower line and the model information was on the top line.
– the frame size number is moved to follow the serial number on the lower line. More information about model designation.
– labels with adhesive backs, not taped to the chain stay.
– End of the “standard” white labels, but some transitional labels without barcodes.
– barcode labels begin. Labels include typed model designation information and serial number in a new format.
– barcode label content changes after Cycles Peugeot is licensed to Cycleurope.
